Madhuri Dixit is a name that ruled Bollywood for a very long time. Although the reign was over, the super-famous actress got married to a NRI doctor and settled in the States, she still has that charisma which cannot be seen in any other actress in the town.
Madhuri is back in the city on the occasion of Makar Sakranti and will nr staying for a week or so. She attended the International Kite Festival held in Andheri and is savouring the taste of Maharashtrian food. She is accompanied by her family, including sons Arian and Ryan.
“The kids love to play in the snow,” said Madhuri. “It’s lovely there but I think they need to learn about Indian culture and traditions as well. They must know where I come from, they ought to meet the families back here, study Marathi and Hindi, the minds are receptive at this stage — whatever they grasp will be with them for life.”
Mrs. Dixit also talked about the recent success of Bollywood at the international stage and said that she feels immense pride for the industry and feels that it’s opening up to new horizons.
“It’s a moment of pride for all of us. It’s certainly a big thing, because it’s opening a lot more doors for our films there.” Bollywood, Madhuri added, had stopped taking baby steps, it is right there in the west now — making news.
Madhuri will be shooting for a TV commercial and will also be the chief guest of the 16th International Film Festival of Usha Pravin Gandhi college.
