Bollywood is certainly making waves abroad and Indian stars are now getting involved with Hollywood more everyday. The recent news is that Shahrukh Khan has been invited to the prestigious Golden Globe awards to be held on Sunday. Not only will he represent India at the venue, he’s also been given the opportunity to present the Drama category award.

SRK opt

This is seen as very welcome news for Bollywood. The Golden Globes are seen as the run-ups to the Oscars and are recognized equally on both sides of the Atlantic.

SRK will reportedly be accompanied by Karan Johar on the red carpet. The two are busy shooting for Johar’s new movie My Name Is Khan in Los Angeles.

The actor told BT from LA, “It’s a great honour for Indian cinema. I am just a means. I have always wanted to come here with my own film someday.”

What’s more interesting is that Slumdog Millionaire, which stars leading Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, is nominated for the same category among its four nominations. Anil is also confirmed to attend the event and will be flying from India with A.R. Rehman who’s nominated for the Best Original Score.
