Vidya Balan seems to have a soft corner for Bengali cinema.
It’s been reported that the no-frills actress has waived her usual acting fee for a Bengali film Mukti when the director Gautam Haldar approached her with the offer despite the movie having a low budget.
The reason, Vidya says, is that she has a high regard for Gautam Haldar, who, she reveals, helped her discover the actress within.
Gautam had apparently casted her in his movie ‘Bhalo Theko’ when no one knew her as an actress. She even won an award for it at that time.
Vidya has been on a high recently after making it big with hit releases like Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiya and is said to be the lucky girl of Bollywood.
“I feel I am truly blessed. At the moment, my life’s going so good, I’m sure there’s some angel looking after me.”
Now this a nice gesture she had shown for the person who had helped her in her formating years in the industry and this is something which rarely happens in this money-ruled world.
Vidya will next be seen with Ajay Devgan in Halla Bol.
