Australian singer Kylie Minogue is all set to sing on the tunes of noted music director A.R. Rehman for a new Bollywood movie ‘Blue‘. The pop star is reportedly being paid close to $1.5 million for the jig and a music video.
The ‘Can’t get you out of my head’ singer, Minogue was not the first choice for this song. In fact, according to sources, Madonna and the popular R&B singer Rihanna were on the wish list of the film’s producers for the song, but nothing worked out and finally Minogue was approached. Kylie will become the “first international A-list star” to sing for a mainstream Bollywood music director.
The movie Blue is said to be one of the most expensive Bollywood movies ever made. The total budget has been estimated at close to $28 million and the star cast is obviously very esteemed. It stars Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif. The story is based on a sunken treasure ship.
The noted international artists that have contributed to Bollywood movies include Tata Young in Dhoom and Snoop Dogg performing a very hip music video for Singh Is Kinng.
