Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy is definitely making waves in Kollywood these days. Her debut movie Vaaranam Aayiram released with rave reviews yesterday worldwide.
She stars with Tamil super-star Surya Sivakumar in the movie.
“When I came first came to Chennai for the shoot, I heard the language and thought it was pretty difficult. Surya is the real Tamil tiger — he is simply fantastic in the movie. Actually, he helped me a lot during the shoot with his suggestions. The song Adiye Kolluthey is a perfect example of it and it’s come out very well due to the perfect timing and dance movements.”
Sameera (Meghna) falls in love with Surya after they meet in a train. Surya follows her to the United States where she goes to study at the UCLA. Her character later dies in the movie in the Oklahoma City bombing. Her role was previously offered to Deepika Padukone who walked out to shoot for Om Shanti Om.
Many critics have appreciated Sameera’s performance in the movie. The actress is now looking forward to shoot for her new Bollywood movie De Dana Dan. The Priyadarshan comedy also features Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Suniel Shetty and Neha Dhupia.
“I’ve never worked with Priyan before. But I think he liked my comic timing in Race, where I played Anil Kapoor’s airhead assistant. That’s how I got De Dana Dan. I’ve always been a big Priyan fan, by the way,” said Sameera.
