Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan is all set to portray the life of legendary musician Kishore Kumar on the big screen. The actor has been chosen to play the lead in a biopic by UTV Movies.
“As a subject, Kishore Kumar’s life is very colorful. His love life, his career, his music, his marriages and above all his eccentricities, he was a complete entertainer,” says Ram Mirchandani, COO UTV Rampage Motion Pictures. “A good comic timing and an interesting personality, Abhishek is the apt choice.”
It is said the AB beat Aamir Khan and Salman Khan for the coveted role. The movie, which will be directed by Sujit Sarkar, will obviously be a grand one and UTV will put all their muscle into portraying a legend who is quite known all over the world and has a fairly large fan base.
The production house is anyways riding high on the success of their recent movies like Jodha Akbar, A Wednesday and Fashion. They are also in big deals with leading celebrities spanning over three to four years.
Meanwhile, Abhishek was hospitalized recently after he fell ill while shooting in Kerala. Amitabh had this to say on his blog about the incident:
“As I step out of bed in the early hours of today (Wednesday), Obama wins, B R Chopra passes away and Aishwarya calls that Abhishek is down with shivering and high fever. All three events come across simultaneously within seconds.”
The actor is said to be in a stable condition now.
