Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant has now turned a ‘Queen cheerleader’ for the on-going Indian Cricket League(ICL). And she promises to expose like no one has dare to do on a cricket ground. Might we be seeing a bikini-clad Rakhi dancing to the tunes of hit Bollywood numbers whenever a batsman hits a six?
“None of my cheerleaders will be banned. No dance is vulgar and we will choose our moves keeping the Indian culture in mind,” she says.
Rakhi has made a team of almost twelve girls for the cheer leading troupe and they call themselves the ICL Zeebras. the process involved almost 2000 auditions in ten cities.
Well, I must say… Sawant has a business brain! She knew there was an opportunity for the cheer leading act after the commencement of both ICL and IPL, with the later format creating huge controversies in India during their first season back in April. The Indian audience took some time to accept the act with skimpy clothes as it was the first time it had happened.
But the, those were the girls from the Western countries. Now that our own desi girl is taking the charge, it would be interesting to see the response.
“Hindustan ki beti Rakhi ne apni mehnat se ye kamyabi hasil ki hai to hum kyun nahi,” she says.
Don’t miss their debut performance on 10th October, 2008 at Hyderabad.
