Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma is having a pretty bad phase right now in his career. His latest movie ‘Phoonk’ has almost crashed on the box office and the guy is now involved in a legal tussle with financier Bharat Shah.
Apparently, Bharat is demanding Rs.25 crore in lieu of financing RGV’s movies way back in 1998. He invested money in Satya, Mast and Jungle and hasn’t got any returns back. the case is pending with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA).
In his letter to IMPPA, Shah has stated that Varma informed Shah that his company was soon to be listed and had assured him of shares worth Rs 10 crore @ Rs 10 per equity share.
It is being learned that IMPPA has now sent a letter to RGV regarding the issue.
So, what is Ramu saying?
“I don’t know about it. It must be a misunderstanding.”
Well, clearly the guy is in trouble and must find out a way to get out of this one. The controversy over his movie, Phoonk, is still not over with scores of people demanding to be given a chance to take up the challenge given by Ramu for the sake of promotion.
