Internationally acclaimed Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is all set to host the second season of ‘Bigg Boss’, one of the most popular reality shows in India.
The interesting bit is that the show is the ‘desi’ version of UK’s reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother‘, in which Shilpa made headlines for all the wrong reasons, a year back. She was the eventual winner of the show.
“This is my debut on television as a host. Since I have experienced the format of the show, I feel I can empathise with the housemates and would be able to relate with the participants who will have no connection with the outside world for about 85 days. It will be entertaining show with a human touch,” she said.
The second season of the Bigg Boss promises to be more entertaining and interactive, with some common people being part of the show apart from celebrities. The show will telecast on the new general entertainment channel Colors and there would be an additional half-an-hour ‘unedited’ live episode shown everyday at midnight.
Talking about the contestants… from all the fourteen, only a handful have been named by the media. The channel is trying very hard to keep everyone under wraps. Those named, include wanna-be actress Sambhavana Seth, actor Shakti Kapoor, singer Sherlyn Chopra and small-time actress Jhanvi Kapoor, who hogged limelight when she cut her wrist outside Amitabh’s bunglow during Abhi-Ash marriage.
There is also speculation about even some politicians joining the cast. All that’s been confirmed is that Rahul Mahajan, son of slain MP Pramod Mahajan, was denied an entry in the house, being constructed in Lonavala, near Pune.
It’s sure to be both entertaining and controversial. I’m all geared up for the show!
