Not a single person in India is not happy about India’s today’s tri-series win over the ‘invincible’ Australians. The young Indian team beat the hosts by nine runs on Tuesday to win their best-of-three finals series 2-0.
Sachin Tendulkar scored a superb 91 and paceman Praveen Kumar went on to capture four wickets as the tourists followed up Sunday’s six-wicket win in Sydney with a thrilling victory at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Let’s see what our favourite Bollywood stars have to say on this superb victory:
I am very happy about the win. Just like our Indian team, my Mohali team has a heart and I am so excited right now! I am looking forward to seeing the Aussie players come to India to participate in the IPL matches. A lot of controversies happened in the tour but I frankly did not appreciate what Symonds, Hayden did. I do not believe in sledging.
I think it’s a great sign for the future of Indian cricket as beating Australia in Australia is not an easy feat. And this young team has proved that it has the true potential to be world champions and dominate the game. Cheers to them.
I totally believe that India deserved to win. The thing is that the difference between then and now. If you see, we, as a team have definitely improved over time. Besides this even the spirit of the game has been uplifted. I say this because just look at the players and you can see it in them that ‘it’s never over till the last ball’.
The last few balls were very tight. The match would have gone anywhere. When James Hopes hit a six, we thought it was going the Australian way. I was sitting at the Marriot for a meeting with an advertising company when my director of Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2, Shashank Ghosh came towards me. Just then the wicket of Nathan Bracken fell. Until India won the match we did not allow Shashank to sit.
