Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, the adorable Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies, has been selected to sing one of the Academy Award nominated songs, “That’s How You Know” from the film Enchanted, at the show set to telecast on Feb.24.
Kristin will be joined by Marlon Saunders, who played the Central Park Calypso singer in the movie.
The song was originally performed by Amy Adams, but Ms. Adams will already be performing a number called “Happy Working Song” during the show, so Kristin got the job.
Chenoweth was featured briefly in the first season finale of Ugly Betty. In fall 2007, she became a member of the cast of the ABC show Pushing Daisies. The comedic drama is the story of Ned, a man who can bring the dead back to life, and falls in love with his childhood crush after resurrecting her to solve her murder. Chenoweth plays Olive Snook, a co-worker and neighbor of Ned’s who is in love with him, but the feeling is not returned.
Aside from that, Kristin is an award winning Broadway star, having won the Tony in 1999 for her role as Sally in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. She was also nominated for Wicked, in which she played Glinda, the Good Witch, opposite Idina Menzel.
Other performers will include Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (singing “Falling Slowly” from “Once”) and Jamia Simone Nash, who will be joined by the IMPACT Repertory Theatre of Harlem on the song “Raise It Up” from the film “August Rush.”
The 80th Annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA, on Feb. 24 beginning at 8 PM ET on ABC-TV.
