Bollywood choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan delivered triplets, one son and two daughters, at the Jaslok hospital in Mumbai this morning by caesarian section.
“She has given birth to one boy and two girls this morning. She is doing extremely well and the babies are also doing fine. They are very healthy.” Firuza Parikh, a doctor at Mumbai’s Jaslok hospital, told Reuters.
Her husband, Shirish, and some other members of her family were at the hospital at the time of delivery.
Earlier, Farah Khan’s friend producer-director Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan organized a lavish baby shower function for the expecting mother at SRK’s palatial Bandra bungalow ‘Mannat’ in Mumbai.
Farah Khan married her boyfriend the editor of Main Hoon Na, Shirish Kunder on 9th December 2004, according to Hindu and Muslim tradition.
Khan directed the blockbuster hits “Main Hoon Na” (2004) and “Om Shanti Om” (2007) and choreographed song and dance sequences in over 70 films. Farah Khan’s directorial Om Shanti Om (2007), was Bollywood’s biggest ever block buster.
She achieved international recognition with her work in Monsoon Wedding, Bombay Dreams and Vanity Fair. She was also nominated for Broadway’s 2004 Tony Award as Best Choreographer, along with collaborator Anthony van Laast, for Bombay Dreams.
