Miss England 2006 Eleanor Glynn is set to play a role in ‘India Rocks’, a musical by Aditya Raj Kapoor.
Glynn will costar with Mimoh Chakraborty, son of popular actor Mithun Chakraborty, who also debuted in an art movie back in 1980s.
The girl from Sandford-on-Thames, said she was delighted to have won one of the lead roles in the movie.
“Well, there have been lots of surprising things. I don’t want to state the obvious about winning Miss England but that was surprising. The offer of a Bollywood film was probably the least expected. It is very interesting.”
Miss England organiser Angie Beasley said: “I think this could be the start of a great career for Eleanor. She is not a prima donna – she fits in with people from all walks of life. I wish we could give her a special award because she has been the best Miss England we have ever had.”
Last year, Glynn had taken part in a Bollywood dancing exhibition, and had the opportunity to meet many Bollywood film directors to discuss the possibility of her appearing in a movie.
She performed a Bollywood dance also at the national final of ‘Miss England’ in Leicester on June 30 last year.
Eleanor, who is 5-feet, 9 inches and weighs eight-and-a-half stone, gave a talk at the Oxford Union about her experience and urged young models not to go on crash diets.
